A new oodler has landed!
We are excited to welcome Danny Norris to oodle, the creative agency within the Systematic family. After standing out in a highly competitive recruitment process, Danny has joined the team with a broad skill set, plenty of industry experience and a creative outlook that makes an immediate impact.
Danny brings a strong background in freelance design and collaboration with marketing teams across sectors. Their work spans both digital and print media, with a particular focus on visual identities that drive engagement and elevate brand presence. With a history of success in the retail sector, Danny knows how to craft visuals that resonate.
Now that Danny is getting stuck into life at oodle, we caught up to hear more about his creative experience, favourite design briefs and personal passions.
Why oodle?
“oodle and Systematic’s values align perfectly with my own. Their focus on high-quality design and their commitment to sustainability really appealed to me. I was also excited by the chance to collaborate with a talented team of designers. The creative culture here is supportive, energetic and inspiring. When I saw the variety and quality of work in the oodle portfolio, I knew I wanted to be part of it.”
Tell us about your creative experience
“I began my career as a Homeware Designer at NEXT, after completing a BA (Hons) in Product Design. A lot of my work involved graphic elements and typography, which sparked my passion for visual communication. Over the past eight years, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects across different industries. Some highlights include designing websites and marketing for a premium fashion retailer, branding for a cocktail bar, signage for new property developments and promotional material for music venues. It has been a varied and exciting journey and I am thrilled to bring all that experience to oodle.”

What’s your favourite type of design brief?
“I really enjoy working with clients who are launching new businesses or brands. These projects are full of creative opportunity. Building something from the ground up allows for meaningful, cohesive design that can evolve with the brand. It is especially rewarding when clients are passionate about their purpose, because that shared enthusiasm fuels the creative process and often leads to something special.”
Any design trends businesses should watch?
“AI tools are changing how we work and I think there’s real value in using them to support creative output. At the same time, there’s a growing appreciation for handcrafted design. From hand-painted shop signs to lino-printed Christmas cards, people still love design with a human touch. There’s room for both. We can embrace technology without losing the craft that gives design its personality.”
What keeps you busy outside of work?
“When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me in the countryside, working in the garden or cooking up something hearty in the kitchen. I’m a big advocate for growing your own veg. It’s easier than you think and a great way to switch off. Potatoes, lettuce and garlic are great for beginners. Whether it’s a long walk or a productive afternoon in the garden, I find nature and creativity go hand in hand.”
