Explainer animations – Capturing a Brand in Motion

The Good Business Charter exists to celebrate and support responsible business practices. From small start-ups to large organisations, the GBC framework offers a clear and accessible way to demonstrate a commitment to people and planet.
To help tell that story, the GBC team approached oodle to create a pair of short explainer animations. The brief was clear: to bring their purpose to life through motion, using digital design and animation to engage two distinct audiences — the general public and business leaders.
Discovery and design
Every project at oodle starts with a conversation. Through an initial discovery meeting, we explored the GBC’s goals and unearthed key messages that needed to shine through in the animations. Our digital designers offered a fresh perspective, acting as both designer and creative translator, helping align the visuals to the GBC’s values.
It quickly became clear that one animation couldn’t do it all. Instead, we recommended creating two tailored videos, each with its own focus, tone and delivery.
Animation 1 – Raising public awareness
The first animation was designed for public audiences, building awareness around what the Good Business Charter is and why it matters.
Using typographic animation techniques, we combined text and image to tell a visually rich story — without relying on audio. This is especially important in the digital age, where up to 70% of users scroll with the sound off. The result is a piece of content that is bold, accessible and purpose-driven.
Animation 2 – Engaging business leaders
The second animation speaks directly to business decision-makers, highlighting the benefits of accreditation and the simplicity of the sign-up process.
From scriptwriting and storyboarding to production, every element of the video was carefully aligned with the GBC’s visual identity and tone of voice. We applied our expertise in motion graphics and digital storytelling to ensure clarity, consistency and emotional impact.
A visual identity in motion
Both animations now sit at the heart of the GBC’s digital marketing strategy, forming part of a broader campaign across social media and their website. By combining graphic design, motion graphics and a deep understanding of their brand, we’ve helped GBC communicate big ideas in a short space of time.

For The Good Business Charter, the project delivered more than just animated content. It delivered clarity of message, consistency of brand and tools they can continue to use to inform and inspire.
